Unmasking
As Lara’s sight deteriorates, she challenges herself, her friends and the wider Deaf community to rethink what it means to be deafblind. Exploring touch, communication and connection, Lara asks whether adapting should be hers alone — or whether the community around her needs to change too.

We want Unmasking to be accessible to as many deafblind, blind and viewers with low vision as possible. Below you can download a range of resources to help you access and explore the programme, including the Full Story Transcript with visual descriptions, a Shorter Story Summary and information about useful deafblind organisations and where to learn more about Protactile communication.
All materials are large print, Braille and screen reader compatible.
Printed Braille copies are available on request. Please email hello@lumotv.co.uk.
You can also customise your viewing experience of Unmasking by enabling audio description, adding and personalising subtitles, and adjusting the playback speed to make BSL easier to follow.
